I have a question about this locomotive shell that I have, I’ve looked in books and online and can’t figure out what model this is.

Thanks

That looks like it may be a GP38-2.
It looks like an old Atlas GP38 shell (made by Roco of Austria).
A blue one.
I know, I had to say it. Sorry.
Definitely an old yellow box Atlas GP38. Originally sold for $10.
That’s a early phase GP38…
Yup, the sprue in the front exhaust gives it away as such.
Thanks guys for the feed back, I bought that one along with another locomotive. I do regret painting it blue, here’s what it looked like before with blue Conrail.

Here’s the other one I have, can anyone tell me what model this one is?

The second is a Tyco or Mantua GP20.
Boy, that second one was easy! Tyco/Mantua GP20. I had 3 of them over the years, and they all ran a short time and then died! I liked the BN one I had the best, classy paint scheme.
I may be mistaken but, after careful analysis, I have reached the conclusion that it is not an 0-5-0 switcher; I have yet to eliminate a mess!
