hey guys
I have asked this before but do you have a set night for working on the railroad. that can include anything from a full operating session to cleaning track to just looking at blank plwood and dreaming. I myself dont set a specific night but weekends are when the most gets done. also in the summer not much work either ?

I don’t have any set time. Weekends we try to get out of the house so most of the work I get done is in the evenings after work. SInce my wife was promoted she has been putting in extra hours on the weekend so I spend more time with the trains.
Here in Kansas we usually have operating sessions on saturdays, and a special one new years eve. weekends are more fun!!!
Whenever I am not busy with family, work, or sermon preperation. I have a small layout, so operation is rather simple. I like to hold my 5 month old son and watch his head go side to side as a Norfolk Southern SD60M pulls some coal cars around. It is rather funny.

Being retired I operate/workany time I want[:D] The club I belong to operates on tuesday nite.

All of the work, ops, BS, etc. on my friends large PC and predecessors HO layout takes place on Friday evenings.
Once or twice a year he will schedule a full ops session and invite participants by phone. This is generally on a Saturday evening.
I am medically retired so I am so busy doing nothing that I don’t have the time to do anything…[:0][;)]
Naw,I am now a full time model railroader and railfan and enjoy every minute of it and I operate when I please.[:D]
Our club meets Weds. nights, but we operate 1 night a month. Rest of the time we work on the layout.
At home, I research Mon, tues, and Weds, evenings or lately, I’ve been staying up way too late laying track in 3rd Planit.
Retired! Work on the pike and ops sessions are anytime I want after 9:00AM. LOL

My wife works evening shift currently and I am retired so I put in several hours each night. When she is off we do things together so it works out well. She just can’t figure out what I do for so many hours in my little room each day.

Operate or work on the layout?
Work on the layout every night and weekend I can. Operate, round robin group is usually Thursday evenings except one that ops on Tuesday evenings. Pretty much every week somebody in the group has an ops session.
