What Projects Have You Been Busy With?

That is why I have far more rolling stock than the layout can handle. :joy:

Been building fast tracks turnouts. Ive slowly been replacing all my atlas customline with #4s.
I can build a 4 in 2-3 hrs from scratch. The wye shown took me 3.5hrs

Very nice! I’m seriously considering ripping out my N Code 55 turnouts and making some fastracks turnouts to make them more consistent.

Fast tracks turnouts are wonderful. Definitely a huge improvement over atlas.

The Levington Grain Elevators are now closer to be completed, and placed along Hwy 23 closer toward the front edge of this part of the layout. I’ll need to complete all the scenery/people/vehicle placement before the Elevators can assume their final location. Too hard to work around them (don’t ask me how I know this!)

So noted!

I really like the weathering on these structures

Thanks mdmasc91. The rock here is actually is actually a rubber casting from Cripplebush Valley Models. Rubber is perfect here because the track/topography wraps around 180 degrees. I bought one 30 x 7 inch Shale casting(I think), and was able to cut it linearly and make it work for the entire rock face. The seams were covered with Sculptamold, then painted to match the existing rockwork elsewhere on this area of the layout.

Great looking scene, @Jeff1952. Thanks for showing the progression from benchwork to finished scene. It always is helpful to see how folks build things out. Great modeling!
