What Radius Are These Tunouts ? ....

In the Walthers catalog, the Peco Curved Double Radius Turnouts - item # 552-244 and 552-245. Are they the same as the ooold Atlas … 18" and 22" ???

The Peco turnouts come in different sizes; small, medium, and large radius. The small are something like 20-24 inch radius, and the medium and large go up from there.

Thanks Charles - I need a tight one for an industrial area. It would be nice if they would list the radii in the catalogues instead of small, medium and large !!!

Peco Setrack Curved double radius ST244 and ST245 are number 2 and number 3 radius (Briti***erms) which are 17 1/4" and 19 7/8".

SL86/SLE86/SL87/SLE87 Code 100 Curved double radius 60" and 30"
SLE186/SLE187 Code 75 curved double radius 60"and 30"

The Small/Medium/Large turnouts are 24", 36" and 60".
The 3-way turnout is a medium.

A big advantage of the Peco turnouts is that, unlike US types, they maintain the same radius through the switch. If you wanted to do something so bizarre, you could make a perfect circle of 36" radius w/ 19 or so switches pinwheeling off of it.
