Gato is probably a fish, as all WWII subs had fish names. [:-^]
Boomer… or maybe Richard Parker.
I
From Wiki on Gato Class subs: Gato 's name comes from a species of small catshark
Chama sounds perfect for a cat, but what’s a catshark? Is that like a landshark?
One railfan I encountered, who put on layout shows a few times a year in San Bernardino, CA, named his cats with sequence numbers. He was up to No. 19 a number of years ago, but I haven’t seen him for a while, and have no idea what number he is at now.
Back when we had cats (too many once or twice), one was named “Chessie,” or sometimes “Chesapeake.”
Another was called “Turbo Traina,” but that was shortened to “Traina” in general usage.
I’m not really a cat person, so any pets that get added to this household in the future will be dogs, and may very well have a fire-themed name (Gamewell being one possible choice).
Boxcar Whiskers…
I once named a cat Big Emma named for the L&N 2-8-4’s.
Wizlish, that was funny as hell! Now I know why the interwebs was invented.
I once worked at an airport that had a front end loader named Fat Alice
How about
Spike
Cinders
Rocky*
*I rode the bus to school with 3 kids from the same family. Their names were Dusty, Rocky and Sandy. I always firure they had uncles named Larry, Curly and Moe.
Did your three co-bus riders share the attributes of their presumed uncles?
Hmmm.

Did anybody suggest Kate Shelley?
(Maybe that could be Cat Shelley).
Actually, that reminds me of the train robber, Cat Ballou.
Little Frisco passed away at home late Tuesday. My parents were spared on having to make the dreaded trip back to the vet. I want to thank all of you for name suggestions. I showed this post to my dad. Wanting to keep the Frisco link alive, two names stand out as a direct link to not only Frisco history but Santa Fe as well: Fred and Harvey. He is thinking towards Harvey when that time arrives. Thanks Paul North for that suggestion and pray that dad can soon receive another gift. He misses his little buddy
For the state of Kansas, you can call the cat “Santa Fe”.
