So I’m here in Steamboat Springs while my friends go skiing. I notice there is one active rail line through town, which I presume goes to Craig, Colo, the original terminus of the Denver and Northwestern? or the Moffett road? Can anyone tell me what rairoad still uses that line, and what for? My online search seems to list nothing about lines through Steamboat. Many thanks. Bob
That would be the Union Pacific. The line was the former DRGW, which as mentioned was the former DSL line that goes up to Craig, CO. A very scenic line with lots of photo opportunities. I don’t know about the traffic levels as it has been several years since I was out there.
