What Santa brought you post pics here

I thought a special SPF was needed but to be a Christmas Photo Fun instead this weekend.

Heres what I got this year The GP-9’s (PRR) are from 1973 - 1975 new in box been out a few to times admire I think as flaps have some tears but not a mark on the wheels.

Hope all had a Merry Christmas

no pics, Santa brought me a nice parts order from The Train Tender, a 6465 two dome tank car,and a Marx observation car.

No pics yet, either, but Santa left me a mint 2419 Lionel work caboose under the tree. It’s behind my #53 snowplow (with the correct “a”) even as I type.

And both my prewar #252 (with its three passenger cars) and my prewar #1700 streamliner did their Christmas duty as well. They belonged to my parents, and it gave me a lot of satisfaction to see them shining in the Christmas lights again, as they did so long ago.

rtraincollector: I have one of those PRR geeps, that I bought new in 1974. Does the fact that you have two suggest that one is a dummy unit? I don’t recall a nonpowered version.

Merry Christmas, all!

Yes the dummy is 8358 where powered is 8357. I think I will put electro couplers on both and tmcc in the power unit. to go with my tmcc NYC GP-9

I got a hundred and thirty bucks in gift certificates and cash to spend at my favorite hobby shop! Think I’ll go after that classic 2036 I’ve had my eye on. Or maybe I’ll kick-in a bit more denero and snag that 2055 hudson they’ve got on display!

Where is your favorite train shop Becky? Mine is the Trading Post. I go there every chance I get. I’m trying not to let all the Christmas money I received burn a hole in my pocket. I’m going to try and hold out and save my money for the train show at the GM union hall on the 9th.

Wife, kids & Santa delivered the Lionel White Pass & Yukon RR diesel.

And this is the set coming and suppose t

Love the post! It’s a true classic! Haven’t been there in a while though. I was at the UAW show the sat. after turkey day. Picked up a red Bosco 6014, a cream and maroon 655 and a Flyer log car with links at that show.

My new fav is Grand Pacific Hobby in their new location on Pearl just north of Bagley. I didn’t know where they had gone to after they moved out of Olmstead Falls so I was pleased to rediscover them. They have some rarities at reasonable prices. A 50 dollar GC came from one of my aunts back in November for my B-day and another magically appeared on Christmas day. I used the first one on a boxed 6257X caboose, a yellow horse car, a marbled Plasticville log cabin and a junker MPC flatcar. Not bad for 50 bucks! I added an orange Baby Ruth 6014 and a black un-numbered LV hopper with pocket cash to that shopping spree. I assume he got the display layout finished since I was last there so I’m really looking foreward to trying to get there this week. (health issues, don’t drive, rely on mom for taxi service)

Becky

No pics, but I got a Lionel Amtrak set from the mid-70s, a C&NW Dash 8-40C with railsounds from 1995, random cars, and some street lights.
