I am starting to get curious about what scale you guys model.
I model HO (1:87.1) and narrow gauge G scale (1:20.3)
HO I think it’s a good balance of size and detail plus the availability. It’s the smallest thing my big fumbly fingers can handle!

I do HO. Big enough for me to have fun with, but small enough to fit in a small room.
HO scale

My dad and i (i"m 40 and live in the same town, so the layouts are in dads basement,my appartments to small for anything.) have an empire in N scale. We have started an HO switching layout also.
HO.
I like the combo of detail yet still have space to run.
I wanted to buy two 1:1 scale Rock Island locos that are up for bid, but my wife won’t let me go to that scale !!!
When I started this layout, I seriously considered N scale. The layout is
in a spare bedroom, so I figured I could have a spawling empire in a small
area. After looking at several locos and track items, I realized I had too much
already invested in HO.
Yesterday I was in my LHS, they have a small N Scale layout that is in process.
After looking at it for awhile, I am glad I stayed with HO. N is just a little (no pun
intended) too small for my liking. Dave
I model 1:1 Scale in HO(1:87th)
If I wasn’t so heavily into HO, i’d be in N.
I started ( or rather, my parents started us) in HO donkey’s years ago. Then, somewhere, sometime, 43 years went by. [%-)] When I got my first MR mag this past Christmas, I liked all the HO stuff, and I began to fall back on my experience. Also, the LHS had lots of it.
Now that I am at the 6 month mark, I am very content with my lot, and can not imagine changing at this point, up or down (in scale, not a comment on any particular characteristic). It may be that I will follow in others’ footsteps and step up to O as I age. Considering the costs, I almost hope I lose interest altogether before that happens.
N scale is going to work out just right, on my 4’ by 8’ layout.
Stan.
I wi***hat I could do N scale but it’s just to small for my fat little fingers so it’s HO all the way.

HO all the way
O scale
F. I can’t see my HO stuff anymore…[:p]
HO scale
HO scale for me I love it. Just the right combination of size and space.
N scale. More acerage per square foot.
