What Scale do you operate?

I just would like to know what most people run[8D]

According to a poll I recently took , but much more involved , HO is by far the most modeled scale.

HO coz it has the most railroad equipment…

I do HO and N. Right now, it’s just N. I’m adding a room on the house so I can start the HO all over (again!!!).

Probably not many here have changed scales since February’s “What Scale” poll. Someone should graph the results of this monthly feature.

Could you add multiple scales. I have HO, O, and G. Will soon add Z.

Also you asked on the MR forum, so HO and N will be the top two. If you ask on the O forum, O will win, and on the G forum, G will win.

ho ho gauge.

In the last year or so MR did a very detailed survey about many aspects of the hobby and provided many charts and graphs. It included scale, NMRA membership, age, money spent, etc. I have too many MR magazines to be able to find it right now though.

I vote for “O” because that’s what I’m currently collecting in anticipation of building a large Hi-rail layout. I actually run a smaller 5’ x 14’ semi-scale ‘O’ layout and a 14 x 22’ around the room shelf style HO Marklin AC layout. I love them all!

I generally operate with the 1 to 10 scale, unless she’s really fine, then I’ve been known to go as high as 15. (Hey, if ya’d a seen her you’d understand!!) [}:)]

(My scale in RR terms hasn’t changed since last week’s poll.)

S for me.

It would be interesting to know what scale (or gauge) model the people that voted in others. It only occurs to me they could be in Large Scales (mostly are in the “G” range), OO or TT. I’m with HO, best size with the most comercial choises. If TT was as comercial as HO, I could give it a try.

I voted other, since I run both HO and N scales.

I voted other. I model On30, G, 7 1/2" gauge and 24" gauge.

Well, I model HO, but I play with G scale - have a HO layout and the G gets set up outdoors in good weather (or round the tree every December). Great to have a model you can happily run on the floor without worrying about damaging it!

Well I run H.O. scale. Well until I can find a way to get rid of the wife, so my trains can take over my life!!! That sounds bad dont it? Well for 21 years, I have been trying to get rid of her but I cant find a way. She keeps coming back! Even when we got married my Mother-in-Law said, " Kevin: There is no Renigs!!!" So I just guess I will keep her!!!

I model both HO and G scale

HO
I can still see it and I can still afford it!

I model in HO but if you want a larger layout you need a room at least 15’ by 15’(for HO). If you want a large layout in a space smaller than that I would go with N.
