other- what ever you want. Thats half the fun. [:D][8D]
I couldn’t decide between your third pick or other, So I chose your third pick.
I had this come to my mind also “D&RGW Pueblo Division”
or “D&RGW Pueblo sub division” etc.
Also to give you another idea, If you happen to have a cabin in the woods near trackside, You could call it the “Cabin Sub.” The posabilities are endless! Please let us know what you decide on!
What ever you decide…Just make sure that you like it & that it fits what you realy think it should be! You’ll know when it sounds right!
By the way…Nice picture!
“Happy Rails”

Thanks Guys. I’m just trying to get some ideas, kinda drawing a blank of this one.
In the railroad building era, just about every railroad had to have “and Pacific” in its name. So I propose Crescent Pass & Pacific[:)].
I liked Wigwam & Western . But I’am going to be going thru the same as soon as I figure whats what around here as for my trains I collect Prewar Lionel but I’am going to start an HO layout so Thats where I’am going to be doing some custom paint jobs and all.
It has to be your decision of course but I like the second one. It just sounds good to me. I started thinking about how it would look on the cars and that maybe Cresent Pass Railway? CPR.
You say it is in your basement? Are there appliances in the room that the railroad goes by? You could name it “water heater central” or “furnace pass” something to that effect
What about something like Denver, Central Colorado & Pacific or Denver, Cresent Pass & Pacific.
[:D][:D][:D]
Either of those would fit…
Both of those are worthy of consideration to be sure. Thanks.
Just a suggestion, but how about the “Wigwam Central” ?
All the names are good, and like several people have said,
alot of ‘model railroading’,is naming your line.
Mine is named the “Eagle Ridge Railway”,which runs between
the towns of Chimney Rock, and Eagle Ridge. Which are fictious
towns in eastern Ky.,and western W.Va.
And it took me ‘several’ years to come up with the name.
I had worked on a name for so long,I was begining to give up hope
of ever naming it,until my wife made the suggestion for the
“Eagle Ridge Railway”. So that’s what it now is.
(that what the decals say anyway.)
Well, I figure if you’re modeling Rio Grande (GREAT taste, my friend!) I’d make it the Crescent Pass Sub. Look at it this way, you’re at least modeling Colorado, unlike me, who has somehow transported all of my Rio Grande steam to the northern Sierra Nevada mountains of California, LOL! That’s why mine is called the Yuba River Sub, it’s a fictional portion of an actual railroad. I’d go with Crescent Pass Sub, it tends to ‘cement’ your railroad to an actual prototype. What you end up with is the best of all possible worlds, a ‘Freelance Prototype’, and believe me, they’re a lot of fun.

I had trouble deciding btween #2 aand #3. It seems to me though if you are modelling the D&RGW than it’s name needs to be in the final choice some where. Good luck choosing. Rob
I hit number two as the main feature of your design is based on cresent pass.
I especially love the “Furnace Pass” perhaps you can put a town of Furnace well… next to your furnace when you run rail over there?
Tom, I think you’re really onto something here. Since it’s a freelance road based on the prototype, I’m thinking a fictional subdivision might just be in order. In a slight variation of your thinking, how does D&RGW Cresent Pass Sub sound? The mining district could be west of the Joint Line at Wigwam, Colo.
There’s a lot of good ideas here (that’s why I asked the experts!). Any other thoughts anyone?
Whoops.[:I] I’m batting a thousand today.
Grande Man: D&RGW Crescent Pass Sub? GO FOR IT!
Tom [^][:D][bow]
I like to name my stuff from prototype operations…you might want to get your hands on an old DRG&W railroad rule book and name it for a depot, , spur, branch line, division, or subdivision named in the rule book…chuck
I voted for 3. To me it sounds like a real subdivision on the Rio Grande.
