What size kadee couplers on a Proto2000 GP18?

Greetings,

I currently have #5 couplers on my Proto2000 GP-18’s and they don’t really spring well at all (don’t think they ever did). I installed these years ago so maybe they’re just worn but I wanted to see if I’m using the wrong size. Anyone know what size is right?

Depends upon the release.

The older one will take a #38 or #28
