What to do with a pooper of a New Blight boxcar?

Why, build another Goose of course!

Needs two of those new USA speeder chassis’ when they get released later this summer, more to come as it progresses. [:D]

Built a second one just for fun.

Great work. You’ve just given me an idea of what to do with some 20.3 scale flatcars for a larger scale car. Now, if only I could recycle my plastic ties somehow

why not build a few hobo shacks or shanties?

They dont roll…[;)][:O][:D][:P]

to vsmith; what i meant to say was to use the left-over ties to build the shacks and shanties with.

So Vic,

Speaking of “Pooper”, you gonna put one in it ??? OR…lotta stops…

Look’in Good…

Vic- Great job on the Geese! by the way, whatever happened with the double caboose-did I miss the finish photos or is it still in work?

Mark, its been given basic paint job, just needs decals added and then light weathering and final the matte coat then I’ll post pics. I’ve had a pile of house projects in the way so I dont tend to get alot of things done during the busy months of summer.

Update:

Well the USA speeder turned out to be a bust, seems ya cant really take the body off with out the whole enchillada falling to pieces, so after sitting forlorn on my shelf for the last few months a thought struck me, I have a drive motor/wheelset thats the same from the HLW wadlin’ goose, could I hook it up to a simple battery pack an use that? so I tried some experiments ans found that indeed it does work! So off to Radio Shack for a selection of battery holders! I settled on a 4 AA holder that has an ON/OFF integral switch, carved up an HLW minicar for to mount the drive, screwed it to the underside of the boxcar and got the thingy put together, and… it runs! No track pick ups to install, no dirty track issues, none of that crap! And a little more experimenting showed the 4AA set up worked on the crapzilla drive I took off the Lionel 0-6-0, so a whole new vista of possibilities has opened before me!

Pics soon.

Vic:

I agree with Paul. New Blight makes for some good “Yard Art” especially when acquired during the after christmas clearance sale price of $5.00 per set.
