I see some model railroaders use bands on there flat cars. What do they use? I have a few flatcars but I dont know what to use to keep them in place. Anybody know what I can use? Thanks
I’m cheap! I use thin rubber bands.
Some people will use dental floss painted black.
Black thread is passable.
the old standby years ago was the cellophane ribbon to open a casette wrapper or cigarette box.
Pinstripe tape from the RC car department at the hobby shop. You can get different colors and it is sticky on the back to hold it in place.
You can go to an office supply store and get thin adhesive, very narrow (several choices) from a company called Chart Pack. The grpahic tape can be a narrow as 1/16.

Once again ya’ll pulled threw. I knew if I had a question, I would get answers on here. Thanks and great ideas!!!
I’ve heard “lycra”(spelling?) thread works good. You get it at fabric stores. It’s used to sow stretchy stuff. It’s not supposed to pick up fuzzy’s like regular thread. Used for telephone pole wires too.
I use very thin styrene plastic strips painted black. The styrene looks identical to steel strap banding by cutting it in sections and glueing the pieces together in an overlapping fashion around the load… chuck
