I bought this on Ebay. I am painting it for KCS. It says it’s a AC4400CW. It has steps on the side, you can see them in the pic. But in the photo’s I saw I didn’t see any steps, and it looks like the back is different.
Thanks
Mike

Agreed, twin stacks equals twin turbos and an AC6000CW. The one in the box from Oriental is the real AC4400CW.

yup looks like an ac6000cw
here is a csx ac6000, has the same back as your brass model:
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=620969
The Brass color unit is an upgradable AC6000cw.
The originally came with a 4400hp engine, and later could be upgraded to the 6000h.p. engine.
The only differants I know of is the 6000h.p. unit has two exhaust stacks.

Actually if I heard correctly they down graded those 6000h.p. engines to 4400s due to all the problems they were having. Same goes with SD90Macs. They down graded them to 4300s that is why they are shown as SD90/43mac.
So the box is WRONG for this emgine. The one I have is a AC6000CW, right?? Man that’s my luck. I don’t think they had a AC6000CW in KCS paint scheme did they?
Thanks
Mike

Looks like he got what he paid for, a model of a UP AC4400CW road number 7037-7047, Which was infact a 4400 HP version in a AC6000CW car body.
I would say use creative licence and use it.
Its a AC6000cw/AC4400CW!!! ummm, duh…

8500 That is one fine beauty there. How much did you pay for it and IF you were to sell it one day what would you sell it for? Just wondering

This thread reminds me of my CP Rail SD40M-2’s that are dressed in SD45 clothing, lol.
