Hello, I recently picked up a Walthers UP 4-4-2 sleeper car, and I noticed after taking it out of the box that one of the tiny hand grabs had fallen off during shipping. What is the best type of glue to reattach those? Jared
Standard CA - aka super glue. Dispense onto a piece of scrap (even paper), then apply a tiny tiny amount in the holes with a pin, insert the grab; breath on it for warmth and moisture to speed curing of the CA. DO NOT INHALE the fumes.

When I apply Walthers handrails, I mix a batch of slow curing epoxy (30 minute usually). I pour it on a piece of paper so that it makes a thin puddle. When installing the wire grab, I dip the ends of the grab in the epoxy so it gets two tiny dabs on the ends of the grab and then install it in the pre-drilled holes. Usually the grab goes in with little excess epoxy showing. If I miss or make a smear, the epoxy can be easily cleaned up using a “Q” tip with a little alcohol that dosn’t affect the car’s paint. The epoxy cures in about 30 minutes, setting the grab in place. This gives plenty of time to adjust and clean up messes. Every so often, I mix up a new batch of epoxy as the first batch cures.
I have used CA with tiny applicators and sometimes it is just the thing. The trouble with CA is it tends to go where you don’t want it to go and when it sets, its nearly impossible to remove.
