WHAT YEAR IS MY TRAIN SET?

I just found a train set at a second hand store and I was wondering if anyone knows what year it is or if it is a valuable set. It is Bachmann and includes a Santa Fe engine, Gerber car, Louisville & Nashville car, Rock car, Burlington Northern car, Santa Fe caboose, power pack, unopened accessories such as telephone poles, street signs, signal bridge, freight station and a couple other unopened packages of plastic pieces that I am not sure what they are. It also includes the train tracks and 3 pieces of green grassy areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

What type of engine? That could help date it. It’s at least 1970…

Sounds like what they made back in the 80s. The locomotive is junk. If you paid more than 15 bucks for it you payed to much for it.

But if you got 15 bucks in it, the cars have good detail and changing trucks and couplers can bring them up to snuff. (Given my budget constraints I do this alot) and the engine best swap out the drive and detail it. The telephone poles, street signs, and details are good and usable with a little paint. Track is iffie. If its brass Give it to me, (Becasue Ia m the only guy crazy to use it) if its silver use it. Power pack is usable. But not super nice.

Just my honest apraisal. of such a set.
