I’d like to talk about the good in the magazine. It’s got a great layout and awesome photos. It promotes our hobby like nothing else. I like most of the articles and ads. I look forward to reading it with my 10 year old son each month (the best part). They provide a fantastic web site/ forum and great specialty books. Anyone got anything to add?
Yeah, we’ve all been concentrating on that one topic about the show listings, huh? Well, I like the fact that it’s really a magazine written by, for and about us. The staff is a bunch of MR people, which gives them more in common with us than the folks at most magazines. I’m also jaw-dropping amazed at some of the photos. And believe it or not, I like looking at the ads, all of them, to see what’s around. In our niche market, the magazine provides a great deal of inspiration and reference material.
And you know what? I think they’ll take a look at the reaction, and reverse their decision on the show listings, too. After all, that’s what we would do.
Model Railroader is a “great” magazine from cover to cover… I have to admit though, some months are better than others, but that’s with any magazine.

An excellent learning tool.
I’m a bit of a geek so I love the fact that they have some nice pieces on the tech of MRR. It’s also a bit of a game in the family, which photo is a real train and which one is a model.

Well, I just wonder where this hobby would be without Model Railroadermagazine. It can’t be beat and I look forward each month to finely written articles, how-tos and geat photos that help me “dream big”!!
Keep up the good work, MR!!
It has always been and remains my favorite magazine. I especially like the way it focuses on the complete layout.
Enjoy
Paul
It’s a great source of inspiration…
What’s good about MR:
1). Photo quality
2). English quality
3). Graphic arts quality
4). Beginner articles
5). Overall presentation
Without a doubt, MR is the most professional looking magazine for the hobby.

I can’t wait for it each month Gets me fired up I like the Layout tours. Cox 47
I wonder what the magazine would be like with no advertising, someone once responded it would then cost $50.00 an issue(highly unlikely), but people buy the magazine like a catalogue. I actually can’t think of another magazine equivalent. Improvements??? I would like to see fewer photos of “Big Boys”
Pretty much everything. I eagerly await each issue. My wife got me a 3 yr. subscription! Ya gotta love a woman like that! Keeps me informed on what’s new in the hobby. Great layouts and ideas; tech articles; there’s really a bit of something for everyone in the hobby from expert to novice…
I agree with all the preceeding. Its arrival is always anticipated here each month PERHAPS even more than MAXIMUM PC (but only by my children). Great photos and good articles always keep our interest up here!
