while reading the decembre issue of MR there is an article on a layout called the ma’s &pa’s, they have pics of 2-6-0’s, aren’t those moguls and if they aren’t whats the difference?

“Ma & Pa RR” is the nickname for the old “Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad”. That nickname doesn’t refer to the locomotive type.
All the steam locos in that particular article were 2-8-0’s, which are called Consolidations.
2-6-0’s are called Moguls.
