whats the most cars you have ever pulled ???

I tried not to be sarcastic just stating my view, unlike you.

Yeah, ok, sure, Bob, if that is how you feel.

Now, if I could only type in Crayon…

that’s a lot, but i’ve heard the P2K SD50’s and SD60’s pull a LOT. How long does it take to count the cars as it goes by?

A few years ago I got around 40 average to mostly free-rolling cars on a 3’ x 7’ floor layout. I beleive the only engines that could pull it without slipping were a LL 4-wheel drive GP38 and a LL 0-4-0 switcher. The caboose was almost touching the front of each engine.[:D][:D][:D]

yeah, the cheap 1 truck L-L drive w/ the rubber traction wheels pulls a lot.

314 cars with a trix big boy and my challenger… club layout. 40x60

Ben

At one point in time I ran a 120-car grain train with two P2K SD60’s on a club layout.

I consider it a challenge to simulate the prototype, not a “childish” game.

30 with my P2K GP38 or my atlas S2, i gotta stock up on cars so i can pull more…

by the sounds of it ill have to go down to the LHS and get a couple of SD50s or 60s and a hand full of cars hehe.

One … I pulled a Volkswagen once, but I coudn’t handle two! [(-D]

Oh - you were talking MRR Cars! [:o)]

!!! WOW!

314 cars… if u think about that… each car is say… 6-8 inches…

so for the sake of exageration…314 x 8… 2512 inches

2512/12 = 209… 209 feet roughly…wow… i cant even comprehend that ahahah

your so " childish" ahahah thats honestly amazing… deffinatly a sight to see

65 36’ to 40’ (modelling the late '40’s) pulled by 4 unit all powered Stewart FT’s ABBA on 24" curves and 2% gradeson a club layout. Never got hot! Lost our site and the layout is now landfill…sob!

Let’s see…well, since all I have is a loop of track on the floor, I’ve pulled a consist of 34 cars ranging from heavy weight passenger cars to grain hoppers with two HO Kato SD80MACs.

well i counted them all before we put them on the train!

Well, for a single engine performance, my Athearn SDMAC Geni pulled about 38 cars around mine. I have about 90 feet fo main line track. It also took the roughly 15 feet of 2.2 percent grade. I couldnt stop it on the grade and restart, but it was a sight to see. Only did for 4 trips, then I called it. Most of the cars were larger though with 22 of them being 54’ feet or longer. But they are in good shape with metal wheels and roll pretty well.

[:D]

I am sure my BLI Cab foward could pull quite abit, but havent had the chance to flog it.

30 or so
get crazy on the midland 3%

K

N Scale: About 65 or so, 73’ Centerbeams, Articulated Autoracks and 48’ Articulated well cars. Total length was about 85 40’ car equivalents. Pulled it with three Kato SD70MACs at the National N Scale Convention, San Diego.

Those are the ones I’m talking about. For cheap, crappy locos, they sure can pull a lot!
(just have to plug your ears for the gear noise)

But their slowest speed is about 500 scale mph. my L-L F40PH could pull MORE CARS THAN MY ALL WHEEL DRIVE ATLAS U33C!

But the speed makes for some great crashes if you don’t care about the loco.[}:)]
