What's up with Oct 2003 Model Railroader pages?

Has anyone noticed anything about some of the pages in the October 2003 issue of Model Railroader? Pages 43-50 and 99-106 have 1/4 inch sheared off the top of the pages. Ihave bought the magazine for years and have never had this happen. It looks as if someone crudely sheared off the top with scissors.

my issue is ok

Mine is fine as well. Must have gotten misaligned in the binding and cutting process.

I bet someone crudely sheared off the top with scissors

Mines fine, too. Check with Kalmbach, they may replace it.

It seems to be just yours. Mine was fine as well. I received a sub-par copy once and Kalmbach quickly replaced it, no questions asked. Give them a call.

sounds like a collectors item, post it on Ebay for $500

Things often go wrong in the printing process. The pages are printed in big sheets, then folded up in sections of, say, 16 pages. All the sets of pages are stacked up, the cover is added, and then 3 sides are trimmed. During this process all sorts of things can get misaligned. It sometimes happens that an employee will pick up one set of pages for a check and put it down on the wrong magazine and someone gets duplicate pages and someone else is missing the article on casting your own snowflakes.
If there is text or major pieces of pictures missing, try to take it back where you bought it and exchange it for another copy.
I once bought a magazine that had a whole section missing. When I took it back, all the shop copies were missing the same section.

For “lou1963,”

E-mail customerservice@kalmbach.com and ask for a replacement copy. We’ll be glad to replace your defective magazine.

All that I can say is… GET A LIFE… Geesh, its a magazine for heavens sake, not the wholly grail of life! No offence to the fine people who staff MRR.[:)][:D][8D][:I][8][:(!][:0][B)][xx(][?][8)][^][}:)]
