Things seem to be going a little hay wire lately. A post will say it has 6 replies, I click on it and there is only the original poster comments. Or it will say there are 0 replies and when I click on it there are 8 or 9 replies already. Stuffs popping up from 1-2 years ago without anyone posting a reply on it.( To gleem, or not to gleem) It just popped up but the last reply was in 7/06. Half the links aren’t click-able whether I post them or someone else does. I have to copy/paste most things lately. Red X’s where pics should be. Pics not resizing when clicked. And everything seems to be getting slower and slower. (DSL) I don’t think it’s me. My Anti virus and Anti spyware are all up to date. Anybody else having these troubles?
Ummm…you do have you Internet browser set to look for the newest version of the stored page when you visit here, right?
I haven’t experienced any of the issues you describe.

we’re killing this forum too ![]()
The “new” posts with nothing new in them might be because someone has edited a post of theirs… sometimes forums see this as a “new” post, and then update accordingly.
Don’t know about the missing replies though…
Don Z-Yep. I’m on Atlas and a couple other forums and this is the only one doing it.[%-)] I’ve seen a couple other folks post about the un clickable links here.
I’ve noticed some strange things too. The forum won’t download with my accelerator engaged. It seems to be blocked.
Once loaded it goes okay, but posting photos has become difficult lately. I gave up on one a couple of weeks ago. It would show in the ‘preview’ but when posted all I got was a red-X. Similar problem yesterday with a photo in weekend photo fun. Same problem, I could see it in the ‘preview’ but just a red-X when posted. I finally got it to load by eliminating the spaces in the title. Strange.
I’ve noticed a general slowdown, even with just dial-up, compared to what it was before the ‘upgrade’. Of course, now I can’t use my accelerator.
Who knows?
If a link is unclickable, it is because the person posting the link did it improperly. It’s easy to make them clickable: www.walthers.com.

Don-I’ve been posting links for almost 3 years now. I know how to do it. As of lately, half of them aren’t working. Doesn’t matter if I’m the poster or not.(???)
The problem that makes links unclickable is that the person who posted it didn’t hit enter after typing or pasting the link. When I type or paste in a link I hit enter. This makes the link clickable. Then I hit delete to get back on the same line with the link and keep typing, then my line looks like this: Check to see if Walther’s has what you’re lookin for. Here’s the link: http://www.walthers.com/. They have a lot of stuff.
Jeffrey-Yep. Doing that like I have been for 3 years. Problem seemed to start when they changed the forum software. I might just reformat my drive and start over. I might have an imbedded bug some where.
Anybody know how to save your IE favorites folder before formatting the drive? I’d really hate to lose all the links I’ve accumulated.
Just copy your favorites folder onto a CD or second hard drive if you have one. That’s what I do.
I notice that everytime I start a thread or reply to a thread I have
to hit Post twice to get it to actually post. After hitting post
the first time it comes back without a subject line and I have to type
it in again (if I am posting a thread). I hit Post a second time
and wala it posts.

There’s something wrong with your setup apparently. I’ve never had to hit post twice, whether replying to a thread or posting a new one.
I’ve had no problems at all - runs like a Swiss cheese! [:P]
The only thing that happens in my case, quite often, is that when I finish typing a response, regardless of the length of time it takes, and click on “post”, I get a blue rectangular text box saying access denied because I haven’t waited the minimum prescribed length of time between posts. Something about flood control. Since it isn’t me, it must be sensitive to unrelated traffic by other member is what I am guessing.
Otherwise, I have no issues, even though I upgraded to IE7 three months ago.
Hold the presses! I just noticed that, contrary to all previous experience, whenever I am the last poster to a thread, that thread is gray on the main page list. Just this moment, it was blue as if a different member had added something of his/her own.
Hmmmmm…
Nope, that doesn’t work anymore. Editing ones message in an old forum no longer moves it to the beginning. I tried to bump a neglected thread that way and it didn’t work.
It might however increment the message count. But that wouldn’t explain threads showing zero replies that really have some.
I have noticed that some threads seem to linger or come back to the top without posts to them. I wonder if the new software has some sort of “number of reads” that keeps a thread toward the top of the stack?!?
