CSX 1 is not a Dash 9. It is the first CW44AC that CSX received. The Dash 9’s on CSX are numbered starting at 9000, the numbers were changed when the AC’s came on the property.
Have they ever settled that debate about whether the CSX 9000 series were in fact Dash 9s or enhanced Dash 8s? I was always informed that CNW had the first Dash 9s ever built. (The first real Dash 9s on CSX started with number 9100 originally, I think.)
