I’m sure this topic has been brought up more than once in one way or another, but I thought I’d give it a go this way and see what results we get.
I’ve done a little research under the heading “trains” and there’s quite a few titles out there.
I guess my favorite would be “The Train” with Burt Lancaster.
Aha, the bi-monthly train movie review, LOL!
Okay, you’re limiting it to one, right?
A TICKET TO TOMAHAWK, with Dan Dailey, Anne Baxter and a scene-stealing little narrow-gauge 4-6-0 called the “Emma Sweeny” (actually, Rio Grande Southern #20). It’s funny, exciting, filmed along the Durango and Silverton line, and it features the best movie paint job I’ve ever seen on a 19th century steam locomotive.
Try it, you’ll like it!
Tom [:D][:D]
1- It had little to do with trains but, Blazing Saddles.
2-Tough Guys with Kirk Douglas,Burt Lancaster, and (yes, remeber HE was in it) Dana
Carvey.
Quote-(conductor) Mister, nobody robs trains anymore?!?
(Burt L) Obviousely, you’ve been mis-enformed…[:D][:D][:D]
P.S. To anyone who cares…Day 1 of my new job went GREAT!!
There is an old B/W movie which i can’t remember the name of but its set in wartime Britain, I think it was called “Terror On A Train” there is a munitions train taking mines to Portsmouth naval base and a guy gets on and sets time bombs in two of the mines, his plot is uncovered and the train has to be diverted and made safe, there is some great shots taken in the cab and also at the lineside.
Danger Lights. Classic early 1930’s RR flic with some of the best effects (using real locomotives, not models) I’ve ever seen. Nothing beats the scene to the tug-o-war between two steam road locomotives at the company picnic!
