I’m with Aggro. BLACK. Like the color of steam engines, coal, oil, ash (okay, so it’s gray), grease, freshly creosoted ties (close enough to call it black), did I mention steam locomotives…
Kelly Green and White - GO Transit
Maple Red and Dominion Gold - Canadian Pacific
Pacemaker Red, Two-Tone Gray and Imperial Black - New York Central
Royal Blue, Capitol Gray and Delux Gold - Baltimore And Ohio
Those would have to be my favoirte paint jobs, and since my girlfriend Mel is here her’s are:
20th Century Blue and Two Tone Gray- New York Central
Maple Red and Dominion Gold - Canadian Pacific
Alpert Orange - New Haven
Plantinum Mist, Dark Sky Blue, and Reflex Red - Amtrak Phase 5
Chessie was never my favorite but one sunny day in the late 70’s(?) a FRESHLEY painted B23 rolled by pulling a worktrain, that was the best looking engine I’ve ever seen.
And while I hated them while growing up, PC and NW black now hold a special place in my heart.
