Whats your favorite and least favorite operating accessory?

Looking good and working fine: 3472 Ref. Milk Car and the 145 Gateman. I am not to fond of the newer stuff like the Pony Ride, Tug of War and the Witches Cauldron. Thanks for asking.

ah a man with impeccable taste like myself[:)]

If you have the space:

The Bascule Bridge

The Lift Bridge

The Swing Bridge.

All are slick and very smooth operating. They do eat up space though.

My grandkids LOVE the Cow on the track; after the cow moves onto the track and the train stops, they all yell MOVE COW! and we push the button and the cow moves and the train starts.

Causes loads of laughter is the mail pick up car, when the mailbag is snached off the post and the onboard bag is tossed out. It is a lot of fun!

My Favorite: Lionel Magnetic Gantry Crane. You can spend hours loading and unloading all sorts of things. I glue small metal washers to all sorts of freight so that the magnet can pick them up. It can be a challenge to maneuver the crane around in an efficient manner, and it’s lots of fun to operate and enjoyable to watch. I enjoy it best after a day of running trains, to load or unload various freight. It’s more relaxing with the trains not running (I keep getting distracted by the operating trains)

Least Favorite: Lionel Modern Era Lumber Loader 6-12774. It loads logs (not lumber) onto a flatcar. It is a bad design that is poorly engineered, doesn’t work well and in operation is quite silly.

my favorite accesory has to be the gateman, i love the way the man pops out lol i also like the postwar coal loader. i dont like the current accessories, most of them to me are weird. as in the historic layout series.

The last time I replied, I don’t think I had the Rotary Tipple hooked up. It has a big foot print and needs an elevated track. Fun to operate. Tests your skills as an engineer to get the cars just right.
