What's your favorite E?

I like the E7. It has an F uint look to it and was the greatest of all passenger diesels.

I vote for the E8.

I vote for E9

DOGGY

E6 in B&O, Seaboard ‘citrus’ or AT&SF; they’re all gorgeous!

I have always liked the sound of an E7 notching up better than the E8 or E9.

[:D]The E7.[^][:)] hands down.[;)][;)]

Appearance wise, the square windows of the earliers Es and the Bull Dog nose of the later Es. Coolest features of both groups!

Best looking, and one of the most frequently seen diesel passenger units on TV shows and Hollywood movies of the 40s and 50s.

Just a few examples: I Love Lucy, the opening credits of “The Adventures of Superman”, the movie North by Northwest and the original "In the Heat of the NIght movie.[;)]

It was a hard toss up between E7 and E8… Time period and road made the difference. The E8 and E9 not much difference in the units but I will say the UP E9’s are very handsome in real life. From the pictures of the Burlington E5’s I have seen they look great. I like E’s anyways.

[:)]The E8 and E9 are virtually identical appearance wise, but didn’t the E9 use a “single” 567 series diesel prime mover instead of two as the previous E units? [?]

E8 for me here.
The only reason I voted for the E units is that the CPR had 2 of them. [;)]

Gordon

all of them

YOU FORGOT THE GRANDEST AND GEATEST E OF THEM ALL! WHERE"S THE E-5?[:O] Silver Streak E’s are the best E’s. Can’t beat that stainless steel carbody.

The bulldog faced E8.

I voted for E-9 because that was/is what the WSOR had.

I like the paint sceam too.
Speaking of, do any of you WSOR fans know where they are located anymore? Did they sell them or something. If they still are owned by the WSOR are they in a place where a body could get any pictures of them.

Just wondering, Noah

E- yuk![}:)]

Sorry, dont like any of em! [tdn]

Forgot to mention that, IMHO, LifeLike has done an “outstanding job” on their E units! IMHO, due to the heavy weight, these are LifeLike’s best running and quietest locomotives! I plan on getting more.

I did send them an e-mail suggesting that they consider producing the large number board versions of the E-7. [C):-)]

I have been considering getting a P2K A-B-A set of UP E8/9s to run behind my UP 844. One thing I’m wondering about is the MARS light, does it do a figure-8 or does it just blink?

Did we forget the B&O EA units? Thats why I voted for other.

The best…Illinois Central !!! A classic design and the best paint

Hard choices, but I had to go with the E6. Love that sloping nose!

The E-7 rocks!! But it really is a hard choice…how can you go wrong with any E unit?
