Hi! I thought that this would be an interesting topic. Sorry if its been posted here before, as I really havent used the forum all that much. Thanks!

Nothing like a pair of SD40-2’s switching cars.[:D]
Yeah, that would have been my second choice!
First would be the MP15AC…ooooooooo… That is some power!!! and the SD40-2 being my second choice.

If it runs on rails i llike it
well my favorite EMD locomotive is easily the SD45. then the SD60. but since neither are there, i’ll go with the DD35A. nothing like a giant 8 axle spartan cab locomotive. are there even any spartan cab SD70s left?
SD40T-2, SD40T-2 & GP60. None of those are on the list.
Yep, there are spartan cab SD70s. Here are a few pics.

whoa… move over, SD60. this locomotive is cooler…
Well you left out the best EMD unit of all, the E7! The best seller of all Es and while not the best looking they proved that diesels could reliably move any train within their rated capacity! They were a minor improvement (567A engines vs 567s)over the E5/6, which had superior looks, and a very similar mechanical arrangement. They were at their best in my opinion on the New York Central in the 1948 lightning stripe scheme![;)]
There are not nearly enough options in this poll.
If i wanted to be real pedantic i could point out that EMD has built some models specifically for the Australian market

My favorite is the EMD GP20. It was at the very end of the First Generation of Diesels and the very beginning of the Second Generation. A true tweener if there ever was one.
I also like its big cousin the SD24. And thirdly I’ll chime in and agree with Chad Thomas about any Tunnel Motor on a mountain grade looks good to me.
No SD45? Or SD40? Or GP30? Jeez…
With that said, i voted F45.
Alec
Well with the meager choices, I voted SW1. I also speak for Cabbage. (Kale)
BOOOOOOOOOOO!
What a lousey poll… No FL-9? NO VOTE!
The GP38-2… the best looking, most versatile EMD ever made. 'course I like all Geeps.
Not everything can be included. You can only post 15 poll options, and I used all of them. And yes, there was an SD40. I put the -2 in parenthesis, meaning either or. Sorry I wasnt more clear.
Being a diehard steam fan if HAD to choose one it’d be the GP30 just like the humpbacked look of’em.
Well, some may not think so. But, I feel the SD40 and -2 are very different. The trucks and the longer porches make the only things that look alike are the main body.

My favorite EMD,the FP7 was not listed.I voted for the F7 since the FP7 is a varation of this engine.I can’t believe that the GP9,the second most prolific model after the SD40-2,was not listed.[:0] It is also very high on my list.
