What's your favorite HO scale vehicle on your layout??

i am just curious. what is everyone’s favorite vehicle(s) on your HO scale or any scale layout? As for me, my two favorite vehicles on my HO scale Leelanau County Railway are a Bush 1957 two tone white and mint green Chevy Bel Air four door sedan and a 1990’s peterbilt 3 axle semi tractor decorated in desert sand with cheetahs on the side of it.

Mine would have to be the one I just finished, which is the 1934 school bus by Jordan Miniatures. Easy to paint and assemble, good detail, and adding a driver and a few kids in the back really helped bring it all together.

Any vehicle that uses steam for power, and rails to get around!

Talking cars on a model RR forum…

I agree with Ray. My favorites are the trains. Everything else is just background detail.

Mine would be a 47 Dodge power wagon from Bush. It is very nice and well detailed.

I would have to say, any vehicles that have to do with industries. (ie) forklifts, pickup trucks, simi’s ect… I love working industries on my layout.

Cheers

trains are number one,but I also like the big trucks of the 50’s-60’s,and construction equipment from same,so for me they all fit together

mine is this little Indian motorcycle that I built from a pewter kit. I used an Xacto knife to take some off the bottom of the tires to give it a “lowrider” look, then used thin wire to bend a set of tall apehanger handlebars. I like 'em old school.

I like my Shays[:D] I have two now.

My favorite vehicle? I would have to be two. A pair of blue box Athearn Benkins cabovers. Why are they my favorites? I won them as a door prize at a local NMRA meet that I attended with my Dad when I was about 10. Yup, no super detail, big ole glue fingerprint on one of them - but the memories are worth a million bucks!

Hmm. I have WS HO figures that I would feel better placing on an N scale layout, and I have some die-cast vehicles right for my transition era road that would almost fit in an On30 layout. No matter, it all fits 'cuz I got 'em!

I have a 1923 Mack AC that is a real cutie, but the shiny seal coat on the rather excellent paint is not something I will be in a hurry to weather.

Mine is a mid 1950s police car with a cop giving a speeder a traffic ticket.

How does the topic of this thread relate to “prototype information for the modeler”?
Shouldn’t this be on the general forum?

Ed,

I thought the exact same thing when I read the post yesterday but decided not to “rock the boat”. Ed’s right. Although a perfectly legitimate inquiry, this sort of question is more suitable for the “General Discussion” forum.
