I have fond memories of the Western Maryland Railway. As a youngster and a teen I lived only a block away from its mainline in northwest Baltimore. I also have a fondness for Maryland Midland Railway, Stewartstown Railroad, and the original Winchester & Western in the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. – Ray

I have a friend who worked for the NYC in Indianapolis and watch the NS trains rush by the warehouse where the NYC ruled in Archbold ohio.There is a small museum in Wauseon or the national museum in elkhart IND.

Well, I’m a western Canadian, so I am partial to the lines that run here. But setting those aside I really like RUTLAND (I think that is how you spell it). I believe is it long dead, but I love it for it’s location. Next would be Alaska, for the same reason.

The Union Pacific and Denver & Rio Grande Western(now the same thing).

Since I live in BNSF territory I will have to go with BNSF.

As far as the past goes my favorite has to the BN

Florida East Coast Railway, Southern (Virginia Green Steam Locos… not black and they weren’t streamlined too!), and the New York, New Haven, & Hartford RR.
