What's your favorite ?...

What’s your favorite train in your collection ?.

Mine is my Santa Fe Consolidation pulling a consists of Santa Fe heavy weights. I guess maybe because I rode one just like it (except for the paint job) this past summer from Palistine to Rusk and back on the Texas State Railroad.

my favorite locomotive is the Athearn GP35 --i have a history w/ it (sort of) my Grandfather bought it and he painted it C&NW green and yellow --i know it was his favorite engine beacause it was always on the track hooked up to a few cars ready for an operating session- it hasn’t got run much lately beacause the couple clips are missing so i can pull anything w/ it- but i did get it out tonight and run it for a minute. it’s plenty noisy because of all the hours on it --it’s made that sound as long as i’ve been operating it (maybe 9 years?) that sound brings back good memories

Depends. I like em all just depends on what I want to do on a given night. It’s like music , if you played the one song all day long it wouldn’t take long before you’ld hate it.

Fergie

good point, but a song will be the same every time it’s played- trains derail at random points throughout the day

Ditto - Watching my Milwaukee GP9’s with a 50’s era freight train, with an orange rib-side caboose on the end!
