My loudest engine would be the Rivarossi U25C I sniped off eBay. The whole house shakes when it runs.[:D][:D][:D]
I’d have to say my colorful collection of Bachmann BQ23-7’s. I don’t run them with the old Bachmann motors/chassis, but I did give one a test spin one time. Like Darth says, it shakes the whole house. It’s terrible.

I’ve got a selection of Athearn BB’s…
Are you talking about the old ones with the dark gray motor or the newer ones with the gold motor? Or are you talking about the old old ones with the huge rectangular motor and “tower drive” mechanism?

Hi bill30!![#welcome] to the forum!!
Do you know what type of engine it is?
i ive right next door to some track so at night oh and right at this moment i heard one
but they are very loud if the wind comes the direction of my house
One of them is an “SW1500” from around 1996, the other notable one is a C44-9W from 1999-2000.
Neither of them is currently running, something about needing a decoder…
Most of my locomotives have wisper quiet drives, the loudest one has to be my QSI equiped GP9!
Hmmm, Gotta be my Model Power E7, hands down.[8]
no i don’t know i have to look it up but i heard its very powerful
hi everyone
Has to be my Mantua metal bodied sharks with the Hobbytown drive. Can’t believe how realistic they sound and it’s just the natural motor-amplified-by-body noise. As they start to pull upgrade, they start to growl realistically.
Kato GP50 CNW unit 5050 in N scale, it is rather dirty, must need some engine work.
My quiet runner, Atlas Dash 8-40B BNSF 8601, also my best runner from day one, now come to think about it, it’s my first I bought getting back in.
My Athearn BB GP9.
