Though my RR is still in the building process most of everything is planned. However the one thing I am still missing is a slogan, something I will need when I decide to get decals for the MESS.
So I’m curious, and so I don’t inadvertantly copy someone else’s slogan. What’s your RR’s Slogan?
Here in Britain a few year ago, the company that keeps the tracks and stations in order was spending a lot of taxpyers money on improvements.
They actually really had a billboard poster that had a picture of a station and the slogan; WE DON’T STOP A STATIONS.
Absolute genius.
Obviously, what they meant was that they were improving more than just the stations but it could so easily be taken the wrong way and caused a lot of amusement at the time.
I’m thinking about something like “Preservation is our top priority”, but then again, how can I come up with a motto for a RR that re-powered an old CNW Erie-Built and added a Head-end power system to allow it to work with preserved bilevel commuter cars!
since my layout probably won’t have a custom made engine or anything for awhile. i don’t need a slogan now but i like this one “If it goes by this rail, it’ll be sure to get there” sounds kind of cool.
Well, since I’m modeling the UP I guess it would be, “BE SPECIFIC…SHIP UNION PACIFIC!” Of course, since my railroad will probably be a fictional line on the UP, It could be something like, “There’s no such thing as highways”, or “You ship it, we deliver”.
For the Wisconsin & Iowa, the official slogan is “The Northern Lights Route” and
for what gets stencilled on the side of locomotives it’s, “Join The Revolution!”
Great Dividing Range Mining Co.-The way to travel.
Don’t ship it with us-we carry anything.
Stuff on our railroad derails-not our reputation for the clean-up.
Great Dividing Range Mining Co.-The way to move minerals, not intermodal.

As the right of each Railroad to live in accordance with its normal cultural evolution is considered sacred, no Railroad may interfere with the healthy development of another Railroad. Such interference includes the introduction of superior Locomotives, Rail, or technology to a Timeframe whose society is incapable of handling such advantages wisely. Railroad personnel may not violate this Prime Directive, even to save their lives and/or their Locomotive unless they are acting to right an earlier violation or an accidental contamination of said culture. This directive takes precedence over any and all other considerations, and carries with it the highest moral obligation.
