Wheat Haulers

What some good wheat haulers that show up around the country?
Of course UP and BNSF but to ordinary for me.
I’m thinking DME and KCS will give some spin but I would like more opinions.
And shortlines are in; as longs as there is a lot of wheat flowing

A lot of grain hoppers are still lettered for “fallen flag” lines–Southern Pacific or WP or Burlington Northern or whatever railroads were eaten up by a larger line but was too cheap to repaint cars…

Locals, Regionals, and Branch Lines are VERY GOOD. In Eastern Washington, we see the State Owned Grain Hoppers, - ACF in Yellow & Green and PS in Gray & Red (later is Uof W colors) as “Highway Savers”. Columbia Basin produces a LOT of grain. Also, regional carrier MONTANA RAIL-LINK. Those cars are available in Accurail. See some private names - such as ADM (Archer-Daniels-Midland) - they have a big terminal elevator and mill here in Spokane. Also, Pillsbury, (I think I saw Post Cerials once), etc. ACF also has a lease fleet with their herald.
The more the merrier!

Would you include the CN and CP ? They operate parts of the old Milwaukee and SOO which used to haul wheat.Plus they haul a lot in Canada.

Always a lot of grain cars (wheat) up in in Canada, the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan plus the federal Government have supplied hundreds of newer grain cars for the railways (ahhh, socialism eh?) plus a few private cars, It is very common in the Fall to see many entire grain trains here.

I happen to work at a feed mill / grain elevator, in the past season if I can remember I loaded lots of NS, NW, a couple UP, and two CGAX which happens to be cargill, which was kinda of funny because the cars went from my elevator in Culpeper Va then on to Roanoke VA and back to back to Culpeper VA to the cargill mill about 3 miles from where they started. If you stand on each others roofs you can see each building.

There destination is going to be a midwest Flour Mill in St. Louis; so would the canadian hoppers be to far out? I now have a couple PS and CF hoppers for DME, KCS, and IC(CN Family, GT etc.) I think I’m going to also start buying random hoppers and re-marking them for ICE; I’m also looking for some SOO/CP @ trainshows.
Someone also told me the Minnesota shortlines seem to carry alot; SMRR, TCW, RRW, etc.
Thanks for the feedback
