Hello. I have an HO scale Eastern Car Works 65 foot mill gon. I trashed the original trucks ( bad idea). I wanted sprung trucks w/medal wheels. I found the boss on the car bolster too large for the trucks I have. If I cut off the boss I don’t think there is enough to hold a screw. Help! Ben

You shouldn’t of done that. You should of enlarged the opening in the truck. You will have to get a piece of plastic sprue that fits the truck and drill the bolster and superglue a new boss into it and then drill the boss for a small #0 screw to hold the truck on. Using a screw without the boss will cause the car to wobble from side to side even if you did get a screw to hold. Been there and done that. FRED

I didn’t cut it off until after I said help. Filed it down smooth with the bolster, cut off the tip of the screw, put it together, runs fine. Weight is the next challenge. I need to add about 4oz. I was thinking about a load of hollow bridge timbers, pore lead inside.
