WHen did they start using concrete ties on the east coast?

Just curious, i finally noticed some on the mainline that Acela uses coming thru Wilmington De. I thought concrete ties were a west coast thing. Iknow its a stupid question, bear with a newbie. LOL

  1. The installation of concrete ties on the NEC started during the original NEC Improvement Project in the late 1970’s.

Florida East Coast was using them in the early 80’s , perhaps before?

SCL used them on their sideings here in NC in the early 60’s.
