When I get "Round to it"

I have several projects just waiting to be started and some still that need finished. I have enough projects right now that I could keep pretty busy till mid summer anyway. Here is a list of some of the things I have to do when I get “Round To It”.

  • Several DPM structure kits to build

  • a Labelle 1903 wood coach kit

  • a JL Innovative model of O’Larys Garage

  • a Walthers “Track Scales” comes with two scales. Needed for weighing those sugar beet cars

  • Finish a Sugar Beet Piler, Started scratchbuilding long ago.Want to finish this year

  • put finishing touches on several structures

  • figure out why my lights don’t work in one of My DCC locomotives

  • add interior lighting to a scratchbuilt coach

And that’s just what I can think of right now. I’m sure there’s more lurking under the mess in My train room.

So what have You got just waiting till You get “Round to it”?

I keep a list on my web site. Of course that’s only a small subset of everything I could possible do. I figured if I listed everything, either no one would ever bother reading down that far or I’d never get it all typed in. So I guess that’s another thing to add to the list - update the list!

Someone once gave me one of these and I am ashamed to say I did not get the joke until they explained it to me.

But if you didn’t have that list of “round-tu-it” projects you’d have nothing to do and get bored.

Last night I cleaned out some of my RIP cars from my desk / work bench. But I still have more project than I can count.

  1. 2 cars and one crane still on my desk, wont track.

  2. 2 PK E-6’s that need decoders.

  3. 4 PK BL 2’s that need motors and decoders.

  4. Athearn SD-50 that I tuned up, not it won’t run at all? Should have left a lone!

  5. Another Athearn SD-50, poor runner from the get go, I was going to give it a tune up as well, then after the first one not so sure now.

  6. Athearn Dash 9, fell 2 foot to the floor, need to fix the shell.

  7. Finishes installing decoders in a pair of Blue Box F-7’s.

  8. New motor for a PK 1000 F-3

9 Figure out sound decoder problem is a pair of PK 1 F-2’s. They sound like R2 D2.

  1. Run feeders to my new passenger station.

  2. Finishes my scratch built passenger platform.

That is the short list, not counting kits, more trees etc.

FWIW, the phrase is “when I get around to it”. [;)]

Looks to me like Dave’s TUIT is round.

I’ve got more “round to it” projects then I can count.

This Tain’t no Gramma Skool!!

Oh, let’s see…what do I have?

Tyco Chattanooga Choo-Choo, which needs to be painted and finished.

MDC Harriman 2-8-0, needs painting.

Cary/Hobbytown E6, needs painting.

Westside/Samhongsa PRR 4-4-0, needs the rest of its painting done.

Athearn/Lindsay GP40, needs detailing and finishing.

As you can see, it takes me a while to get to the painting part of most of my projects.

Is everything turning freely? I know I’ve assembled worms into the trucks and accidentily had it sitting on a gear tooth, and then it couldn’t turn at all.

Have you checked all the electrical parts? Does the motor work without the PC board? I had to fix the lighting circuit in my Genesis F3A, because one of the PC board parts burned itself out and stopped one of the lights from working.

There’s simply no way I could ever possibly list all the projects I have “waiting until I get around to it”… the list is astronomical and might just be a life-long undertaking in and to itself.

John

I use to have some ‘Round Tuits’. I must have given them all away.

Rich

Or even that could be listed in finite time on a forum.

Yes, Dave clearly has A round tuit [:D] [}:)]

My general philosphy is:

Get one kit 90% complete, and buy 2 more.

I’ve completed about 35 kits.

And I get in deeper every day

Hi all Hey I used to have A round tuit. whene I was flying RC airplanes it was A round airplane flu quite well.

I think my wife went to Gramma Skool when her daughter was pregnant.

Let’s see:

This Saturday;

  • Interiors for 4 x DPM kits and a fire engine house

  • Clean tracks & coat with rail-zip, then stage for operations (haven’t run since moving house)

  • Install ‘edge of town’ scenery along rear of layout and residential housing - essentially, scenicking the rear right corner.

  • Kitbash freight house

  • Install freight house scene
