On the north side of Oshkosh, is a branch line leaving the ex-CNW main at Tower CF(IRRC) that originally went to Hortonville, founded by the fellow mentioned in the magazine article.
There is an industrial park on the north side of Oshkosh, now served by CN, ex- WC, exx-CNW. Thanks for the update.[8D]
Yes, Hortonville. Good going! Actually, the line from Oshkosh north of HWY 41 to Hortonville is a bike trail now. CN (WC) restored the line from Appleton to Hortonville to New London when they abandoned the former GB&W line from Green Bay to New London.
A few years ago, WC was giving consideration to restoring the bike trail line from North Oshko***o Medina Jct. as a second main to relieve congestion at Neenah.
During the heydey of North Woods lumbering, the line through Hortonville to Oshkosh was one of the most heavily trafficked lines in the country.
I’ve wondered if Ed switches plastic pellet hopper cars in Houston that are delivered to this line.
