Where are some photos of the old WC Wausau Shops

I’ve always wanted to see the old WC Wausau shops and how they first started out. The shops are torn down now and I would like to see some photos of it.

You might try the photo collection of the Wisconsin Historical Society

Some great photos on this site, thanks Datafever for the tip. I lived in Wausau from 1974 to 1978 and used to visit both the Milwaukee Road and C&NW shops areas frequently (more often the Milwaukee as they were closer to my home and had more locomotives and all around action there). I remember seeing losts of F units and GP7 and GP9’s as well…also I believe we used to see some really old FM and Baldwin units from time to time. I also remember when they brought new GP40 units in the 300 series (I remember unit 351 was my favorite) and wow did they look good in the shiny new paint! I was up in Wausau a couple years ago and was sad to see the shops gone as I recalled many happy hours with my new wife (married in 1973 in New York) visiting (in her case it was tolerating, which she has done ever since) the Milwaukee Road shops. For more action I used to drive to Stevens Point for a look at the SOO shops there, or up to Rhinelander for more SOO or to Green Bay for Milwaukee Road, C&NW and GB&W action. Back in those days the line from Green Bay through Shawano and Wausau on to Eau Claire was still in operation as was the lines up through Antigo and down in Wauatoma…all of which are now long gone. Oh the memories!
