Where are they going and what

Are these…?[;)]

First guess:

They look like jet engines. Maybe headed toward Witchita and Boeing?

Then I thunk about it (this is the noise my brain makes with cogitation) and figured that they were awfully big jet engines. So maybe they are power plant turbines. Or even power plant jet engines.

Two guesses, both prolly wrong. Been known to happen.

They look like steam generators headed to Comanche Peak power station in Glen Rose, TX. If so, then they were manufactured by ENSA in Spain.

Each of the steam generators weighs 364 tons, is 22 meters long and has an external diameter of 4.3 meters, while inside carries over 5,500 tubes.

Ya gotta give the guy credit…he is quick and accurate.

To let you get an idea about how heavy they are, the BNSF road power laid down trying to drag them up out of the docks.

We had to tie on to them, and pull them out, cutting off on the fly so he could keep going.

so each of those steam generators has it’s weight spread across two 8 axle flats?

dd

I figured they were headed to Texas. I noted the “TXU” on them which is Texas Utilities.

Yes, I think for the weight distribution, and because it allows the things to take a sharper curve, that and I don’t think they fit on a standard 89 foot flat.

There are idlers in there too.
