The SDL39s, with their export-style trucks, finally made it out of the country… Somewhere in South America, though I can’t remember where exactly at the moment…
ASAB is now the Bay Line, and I believe they still have the 507.
The SDL 39’s are in Chile.
Just watched that movie “Switchback” from the early 90’s, the other night with Danny Glover and Dennis Quaid. It featured 2 ex SP SD 39’s painted “Rio Grande”. But I have no idea who owns the 2 units.
They have a 507 but it is a ex-PC GP38-2. The most recent pic of 507 the GP39 was 1990. The roster also does not list disposition.
Some of the SP SD39’s are still on RailAmerica in KYLE paint (some of the few units RailAmerica kept and did not sell when they absorbed Kyle Railways)
