Prompted by the question about our ages, I wonder where most of us are located. I note many posts from the middle west and southeast. Also south. I am located in Northern Californis and have seen only one other post from up here. Sad to say that my area is lacking in sources for trains and train related items. If it wasn’t for this forum I’d feel like a total loaner!
Northeast Taxachussetts, about a mile from the pond as the crow flies and just up the coast from Salem MA., the Witch City. I’m fortunate to live within 12 miles of Charles Ro Trains (Malden MA) and 6 miles from Northeast Trains (Peabody MA). I did a search and don’t find any 3 rail O gauge clubs close by.

Boonter, with all the rumbling in the Reno area you could end up a little farther north or south whichever way the plates slide.
I’m in the Sandy Eggo area of SoCal.
Near Rolla, MO. We have a small club and two shops that handle some sort of trains, one a little HO, the other one O (but his hours are sporadic). There is a smattering of all gauges in the area.
For the trivia buffs: Rolla was the railhead of the SW Branch (Became the Frisco) of the Paciic RR (became the MoPac) during the Civil War. Two forts and up to 20,000 Federal troops defended this bastion of the Union.
My tag is a clue: The proper state motto of NYS is The Empire State.
Ah, but what rises also can fall. Hence my humorous take “The Roman Empire State.”
NYS once had a manufacturing output that equalled that of other nations… now we’re lucky to have the jobs we have now. Elmira was once the fire truck headquarters of the entire world… that’s long gone. We had the world’s largest single facility food processing plant right in my area, torn down and which is now a super Wal-Mart… another sign of the times. The “Corning” hoppers still so popular in the 3-rail world have now been replaced with leased less obvious plain grey cars, with only a small note that they are leased to Corning. And actually Corning Glass (Pressware) now belongs to World Kitchen.
But we have loads of railroad history, along with Pennsylvania. Which explains my obvious affection for the Lehigh Valley, Erie Lackawanna, Penn Central, Conrail and Norfolk Southern. I had realtives that lived in the Reading, PA. area, so I have an affection for the Reading too. And the New Haven… that comes from Lionel. But the Lehigh and Conrail will always share the number one spot for me.
I still like the Pennsy and Central, but not as much only because they seem to be so over done in current starter set types of items.
Used to be in Northern California, but we have drifted South, now in suthern california. More drifting expected, I have my VISA
I recently relocated to Mountain View, CA in the Bay Area. But haven’t set up a new layout here yet, so am currently only lurking and waiting for more space to become available so I can get back into it.

Boonter, have we made a trip over the YREKA WESTERN behind the 19?
MILLERSBURG, PA. about 25 miles north of HARRISBURG, Pa da state capitol.

Boonter, you really should not feel isolated. I am in the Eastern Netherlands (an oasis in a Lionel desert). The closest friend in this hobby is 100 miles away, the first 0-3-rail club is across the channel and the closest shop selling 0-3-rail items is about 300 miles. That is why internet is great and makes it possible to share hobby thoughts.
Greetings

Denver Pa about 50 miles south east Harrisburg. 10 miles from Strasburg [:D]
Pensacola Fl. Too hot in the summer and too hot in the winter. I miss the midwest.
located in philadelphia pa . the home of the deceased PRR and READING RAILROADS .
Currently, the body is residing in Jacksonville, Florida (but by the Grace of God and the Saint Mary’s River, it’d be Jacksonville, GEORGIA!!![banghead][banghead]) Home of CSXT and a mere 30 minutes north of the HQ of The Florida East Coast Rail Road. My heart and soul (but fortunately, not my tax money) is in New Jersey (WHAT? You didn’t notice the handle?[swg]) Great Grandpop Aleini worked for the Standard of the World, the great Pennsylvania RailRoad. WE ALWAYS hated the NYCentral…Lived near the NorthEast Corridor most of my life, saw the transition from PRR to PC to Amtrak & Conrail. Have an affinity with the Jersey Central & the Camden & Amboy. Where I used to live, the John Bull made regular trips through the town. Some of the trackage and right of way can still be seen. Pretty much owned by NS now. The Sleepers are still there…
Portsmouth Ohio, take a look at a map and find the sharpest bend in the Ohio River and that is about 300 yards from my house.

Seven Hills Ohio, about 7 miles south of Cleveland on interstate 77.
Willoughby, Ohio which is 15 miles east of Cleveland, Ohio and is the home of the CP&E Railroad.
The great SAWTHERN state of GAWGIA!
GO DAWGS!
San Jose, CA population as of this week 1,000,000 people according to the stats. Tenth largest city in the US. Forty five years ago we use to have a round house, yards, factorys, railroading, the works. Now its all silicone buildings, no trains. After growing up here from a small kid, my love for trains have never died. Yes, I do miss the excitment of train dealers but one by one they all left but one. Reuben
I am, like anjdevil2, in Jacksonville, (South Georga or North Florida) depending on your view point. But, unlike Rich, I’m glad I am here. The call for me to move to Jacksonville was a very cold February day in Kenton, Ohio. My future headmaster offered me a job on the phone and remembered to tell me it was sunny and 73. When I received the call, it was -20, with 6 inches of snow on the ground, and a nasty wind. I grew up just West of Erie, PA in the snow belt and I don’t miss the cold and snow one bit. As a matter of fact, when it gets in to the 50’s, I start looking for warm clothes to wear.
