Where can I find on the web where the busiest stretch of track in the USA is?

As a example llike Barstow to Daggett or Colton to W. Riverside.

For freight its the UP between O’Fallons and Gibbon, NE. Dave H.

You might try the UP Geneva Sub, in Chicago, or the BNSF “race track” between Chicago and Aurora.

Thanks however I was recently in Daggett & saw 44 trains in less then 7 hours between BNSF & UPRR & was wondering if the RRs post any such info on the web of how many trains past a given stretch per hour or per day. I was also on Gibbons last year & also saw a passal of trains there but did not keep track of how many of them like I did this year @ Daggett

spbed. Have you ever headed east before??? Toledo, Ohio to Elkhart, Indiana chicago main line you see up to 90-100 trains a day.

if he stays west of butler indiana he’ll see some cp trains mixed in too.

stay safe

Joe

for passenger is probably the Motthaven to GCT segment of MNCR or Harold to Penn station by LIRR and Amtrak

Or Penn station to Newark , both NJT and Amtrak

Thanks I used to live in NJ & commuted on NJT & went thru Newark many, mnay times

Do U know how fast the trains are moving thru the place you mention or Forstoria are moving? Thru Daggett most BNSF trains are moving I would say between 50 & 70MPH

spbed. Trains go thru there at 60-70mph and amtrak goes 80-90mph

unless someone installed cab signals/atc the max speed for Amtrak is 79 mph.

OK thanks

I spent a day at the west end of Bailey yard in North Platte, NE and counted 107. I would think the the jct of Blue Island or Dolton in Chicago would see some big #'s
