I have started scratch building some locos that you can’t buy or if you can you have to finance your car to buy it. But I’m having problems finding drawings or blue prints to find out some dimensions and location of certain items on the locos. If anybody knows were or how I could get some drawings to help me along with my projects.
Thanks

Sometimes railroad historical societies have plans or diagrams of engines.

Hi “Loconut,”
Do you have the “Model Railroader Cyclopedia, Volume 1: Steam Locomotives,” edited by Linn H. Westcott? If not, see http://kalmbachcatalog.stores.yahoo.net/01001.html.
Good luck,
Andy
Back issues of MR have drawings. Some railroad books for a specific railroad do also.
Enjoy

For Baldwin locos try the DeGolyer library - they have many of the erecting drawings. Be aware that they are not cheap, however! Per sheet is around $30, but of course they are more reliable than most drawings, as they are the ones the original locos were built from!

Thank you for your reply. I have been looking for the cyclopedia, I have found a couple but they want any where from $80 t0 $125. There were a couple of used ones but that can be unpredictable.
I guess a used one is better than nothing.
Thank you for your time and being involved in the greatest hobby in the world
