Where did "He couldn't wait 14 seconds???" go?

There was a thread on here last night with a link to some video.

It seems to have disappeared. A search for it finds only half the thread and gives no clue as to its location.

Weird.

I’m sure it was removed due to this rule:

  • No inappropriate images or videos. If you choose to post photos or links to videos, please keep them railroad-related and use your best judgment. Someone getting hit by a train or using poor judgment around a train (e.g. playing “chicken” with a train) isn’t welcome.

I should say not! Thanks to the moderators the thread didn’t last long enough for many to even see it was there. Keep up the good work mods! [tup]

There was a thread a few days ago criticizing MR and it has mysteriously disappeard as well…

The thread criticizing MR mag was Al Mayo again…

OK…I see now. I’m not familiar with the whole “sordid story” of Al but read the explanation post from a few weeks ago. I had replied to the thread not knowing it was him…

Yes, the video was quite clearly against the rules, so it had to go. And any thread criticizing Kalmbach where the person is obviously new (unfamilair user name and a very recent registration [up to three weeks previously] and a post count between 1 and 20 is very probably a troll. These days, it’s most likely to be our notorious Al.

The same can be said for a short post from the same type of poster that is somewhat abrasive and uses aggressive and confident language…as if he is not new here. That’s 'cuz he’s not new here.

Newcomers are generally more deferential and self-effacing. They also tend to ask for help. Al jumps right in and begins to take a chummy presence. Then things go bad…every time.

Please, when you suspect that something is not right about an unfamilair user who posts comments that are quite forward and opinionated, just let us know by using the report abuse function. If it doesn’t turn out to be the case, we’ll let you know privately. But you may help us to pre-empt the inevitable souring of one or more threads, including WPF, by identifying the person quickly.

From what I have seen most threads that are critisizing MR in reasonable ways are left to run their course. As for as the thread in question, any thread begun by that person will be deleted ASAP and that is how it should be. [2c]

Well that explains it. It was a guy playing chicken (although I think faked). I went to look at the thread a second time so I could copy and email the link to a friend and it was gone.

Seems a bit PC to me but it’s not my list!

I’m guessing a search at youtube would yeild lots of these type of videos.

While I am not a proponent of racing trains or playing chicken…errr read playing STUPID with a train, I did play a funny trick along those lines, on my missus just the other day…[(-D]
