Who you think would have a standard guage track lockon?? should I try my local hobby shop?? cause they carry MTH brand new standard guage track…you would think they would have a lockon…thanks.
Try searching for a lock-on, not lockon.
and its gauge, not guage.
things are much easier to find when they are spelled correctly!

Scot, I’ve never seen Lionel refer to these connectors, LTC, CTC, OTC, UTC, as a “Lock On”… they always used it as 1 word.
lionel2, what you want is a UTC LOCKON.
Also, the MTH Lighted Lockon, # 10-1021 is a “UTC” of sorts in that it fits “O” & Standard track:

MR. PERFECTION here…who cares how I spell words…I am typing too fast to care…as long as you guys get the picture…and not nit pick…give it up…thanks.
No worries - you had the part name right. Even the Mfg’s get the five-letter word wrong now & then…
Rob
lionel2,
I use the MTH lockon that Rob mentioned, and I recommend it highly. It looks much better than most lockons. The built in bulb is also beneficial if you are running DCS as it cleans the signal.
Cool…so they make a lockon for standard gauge that has a light bulb? What do you mean it will clean the signal??..I will be using a Z transformer to power my standard gauge trains…pretty sure i seen that lockon at my hobby shop…i think it was like $3.99 or $4.99, Thanks.
Lionel2, if you’re not using MTH’s DCS (Digital Control System), you don’t have to worry about it “cleaning” the signal - it is irrelevant. The nice thing about that lockon in the photo is that it’s universal; you can use it with either traditional O gauge or Standard gauge track.
And FWIW, even Lionel misspelled the word “Gauge” on some of their prewar steamer pickup plates - it’s a common mistake, and not a big deal. [;)]

Thank you very much…Guess i will be looking for a lockon today and some track…I have 1 question…How long is a standard gauge piece of straight track??..not sure…but i never measured it at the hobby shop…looks like 12 or 14 inches…Its MTH brand new track, if that helps…i will look around online to see it i can find out…thanks.
Is brand new MTH standard gauge track good to buy for my old standard gauge 10E and 3 passenger cars??..or should i try to get some original lionel track??..I personally would like the new stuff…its easy on parts…such as the wheels…would i be able to make a perfect loop on an 8x4 piece of wood…my train table is an 8x4…i know i need 8 pieces of curves…but roughly how many straights would i need?? i have no idea how long the straght sections are…I know they have a 36" section…but the regular track not sure how long they are…thanks.
New track will work fine with older equipment.
And the regular straight sections are 14 inches long.
