Where have I been?

I’ve noticed that when I hit the back button to leave a thread and return to the General Discussion topic index there is no indication of which threads I’ve already visited. Some topics are grayed and some or not. They don’t match what I’ve read or not read. On the old forum visited topics would change color upon returning to the page.

I’ve tried using the link at the top of the page, but then I get scrambled on where I’ve been as the topics page has changed around on each visit.

Thoughts?

Thanks, dekruif, but the icon indication doesn’t work either. It shows that I haven’t even read this message. [:(]

dragonrider,

I find it useful to click the “Refresh” button on my toolbar once I go back to the General Discussion Page. After I do, and the page re-loads, I can see which topics I have viewed.

Hope this helps!

When you hit the back button, the previous page is loaded from cache on your computer, not from the MR website. If you hit the refresh button, the topics you have read on that page wil turn gray.

Hope this helps.

Tom

Some web sites configure their home pages to automatically re-load, even when a visitor only clicks the “back” button. I suspect the old MR forum was setup that way, since I noticed it did that regardless of how I navigated. The downside of that type of setup is [slow] performance - if you have a dialup connection, you might not always want to wait for the page to reload.
