I always looked forward to reading Jesse’s posts and appreciated his infectious enthusiasim, and his skill at entertaining the reader, but I haven’t seen a posting in quite a long time. Does anybody know why, or have I just been missing them? Gary
[:-^]
You know Gary, I have thought about him several times this fall, wondering what he was up to and why he hadn’t checked in.
You are right on all counts, I as well loved his entusiasm and creativity.
RED HORSE NATION, where art thou ??? .[X-)] been looking but cannot find you,
Your friends here miss you and if you cannot post to this site then send a smoke signal. [(-D]
We’ll be watching and waiting.
Hope all is well with you and your family.
Johnboy out…
Our indications are that he was last active on the 11th of May. He was posting on another forum back then, too, but not for several months.
-Crandell
I sure hope that nothing unfortunate is involved with Jesse’s absence.
In the same vein, Spacemouse has been a missing person for about six months now, even though his beginner’s guide is still on-line. Does anyone know if a space warp hit Pennsylvania?
Chuck (Modeling Central Japan in September, 1964)
I found no trail signs of Jesse Red Horse (didn’t expect to), but heard one can send an email to Space Mouse’s address by doing a search for Space Mouse at the MRH website.
I have been wondering about Jess too. Miss seeing his updates and reading his always upbeat posts. They never failed to put a smile on my face.
Hope everything is ok for Jess. I haven’t seen him lurking at any other forum either although he was posting at the forum Mark mentions while ago IIRC.
I’d be willing to bet his computer crapped out on him and he don’t have a new one yet. I think this happened before too.
Hello my old friend., You were right something bad did come my way but I lived through it and will explain at another time, I lost my layout along with my old home but my trains are with me and I’ll have to work on a long narrow layout in the future.
Thanks so much for your concern, while I was laid up my wife tried to post on the forums for me but we couldn’t remember my pass word, she got frustrated and gave up, I had to reapply to this site.
May all your wheels stay on your tracks, Your friend, Jess Red Horse.
I’m back, had a really bad year but survived with the help of surgeons, family and loved ones.
Had a really bad accident while working as an EMT but survived, the accident ended my career that I loved so dearly but the woman we were trying to save did make it so it was worth it.
I still have my trains but no room for a new layout in the new home, I’ll have to get by with a long narrow switching yard type layout.
Thanks for your concern, it means a lot too me to come back and see that i was not forgotten, that really put a smile in my heart, Thanks to you and everyone who have helped me here in the past.
Your derailed buddy, Jess Red Horse.
Nope, my computer was fine, it was my body that crapped out…LOL!
I’m back, needed a new home, survived a career ending event while working as an EMT but the surgeons put me back together the best they could but still wasn’t good enough to get me back to working, I destroyed my left shoulder in an accident while extracting a old woman from her attic, just a freak accident that almost took her life, mine and my partners.
Thanks for thinking about me, I’ll stay in touch with my old friends here and pray nothing like that ever happens again.
Peace my friend, Jess Red Horse
Welcome back, Jess! FWIW, you probably could have contacted Kalmbach Customer Service and they would have sent you a new password.
If you are wanting to keep your old profile name (and post count), give them a call or shoot them an e-mail. They are usually pretty helpful.
Tom
Thanks Tom,
I’ll start over fresh with this site as I will have to start fresh with a layout and in life in general so it’s all good!
Jess, H.O Crazy Red Horse.
Jesse, it is wonderful to hear from you at long last. I had wondered what happened, and was thinking about you just three days ago, if you can believe it. I am sure we are unhappy to learn of your hard times, but it sounds like your woman is still with you, and willing to help…that is almost a rarity these days, or so it often seems if you read the news. So, we hope to see some news from you that you can share, and some images once again. You were off to a firecracker’s start at one point.
Crandell
PUFF-PUFF-PUFFPUFF_PUFF, for those who can’t read smoke signals, it says, Thank you for missing me and I have returned to haunt the forums once again!!!
Crandell my old friend,
Yup my woman nursed me back to health and NEVER left my side through all the operations and rehab but in the end I have only 40% use of my left arm but at least I still have a left arm, the recovery was horrific to say the least but it is behind me now and I’m ready to get back into my HO train layout, well come spring, it’s to damn cold here to do anything yet.
I couldn’t take my old layout with me but did have my son in law cut out the nice pond and quarry that I had and I hope to use them in a new layout, this one will have to be a long narrow type of “switcher” style due to lack of space here, so I’ll have to learn new things from all you rail vets here.
I look forward to the new journey and I have missed posting my crazy ideas here also.
Thanks so much for not forgetting me.
Dedicated HO Nut, Jess Red Horse.
Being a EMT didn’t you have an insurance or anything to help you? That sucks you lost your house because you got hurt helping someone else.
Nice to see you back Jesse. Sorry you lost your home but you are alive and kicking. I know what it’s like to live with injuries and disabilities. It takes some effort but you’ll manage I’m sure. I look forward to seeing your work again.
Welcome back Jesse! Sorry to here about your troubles and glad your you’re back with us. We all missed your posts.
Now, where’s Space Mouse?
Jay.
Jess,
Welcome back. Sure sorry to hear of your accident. I served for 8 years on a volunteer FD, they had some insurance for us, but not sure how much it would have covered. A volunteer volunteers and seldom worries about what is going to happen. They want to help. Thank you for serving your community.
Don’t know what part of the White Mountains you are in, but there are two shows coming up in April along the Connecticut River. My friend and I hope to get to them and if you are close enough, might give you an outing with some other model rr’s too.
Hope your recovery continues rapidly,
Richard

HI again Jess,
I am really glad to hear you are up and about. You were indeed missed, and many thoughts and prayers were coming your way.
As said by others, Thank you for your service to your fellow citizens, I’m sure it is well appreciated. Some times it just doesn’t seem fair that these things happen. We have a saying here that might work for you and this is it " No one said it would be easy or fair, but they did say it will be worth it." So hang in there good Buddy and keep checking in even if you don’t have modeling news. Just keep us updated on your day to day activities and progress. We are interested and concerned for your well being.
Blessings to you and your good Wife.
Johnboy out…till next time.
