Where, o where can I find some EMUs???

Gentlemen, where may one find a supplier or online catalogue of EMUs in N scale? Steam and Diesel of course are the predominant choice for quality model layouts, however my layout is upgrading with the times and would love to see the addition of some EMUs to its collection. Many thanks!

I’m guessing somewhere in Australia. [swg]

(sorry, couldn’t resist) []

Oh, wonderful…and sooo funny! Electric Multiple Units dummy!!! Thanx for the laugh tho

Well, someone was bound to say it, so I figured it might as well be gotten out of the way sooner rather than later. [:D]

Oh, yes… you’re welcome. [:)]

Thats all good mate, but can you help me with this subject?! (pleeease?)

The best I can suggest is walthers (walthers.com). They may have a selection of EMUs on their web site. They can be a bit pricey, so you may want to check other retailers out for better deals. Walthers can at least give you the names of manufacturers and model numbers which will make enquiries elsewhere easier.

If you get a copy of MR magazine, you can find a listing of retailers (internet and brick-and-mortar) from all over, possibly one near you. I wish I had a copy with me (at work) and I could point you towards a few.

In lieu of that, you can search the forum topics to find one about internet retailers (there was one not too long ago) which should help you find a supplier. I found one topic that might help … http://www.trains.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=41139 Someone there listed these internet stores…
www.discounttrainsonline.com
www.modeltrainstuff.com
www.trainworld1.com
www.wholesaletrains.com
www.tonystrains.com
I have no idea if any of them will have what you’re looking for or if any are reliable.

Wish I could be more help.

Kato and Lima both make models of European and Japanese commuter/subway equipment. While not American prototypes they still might work depending on the era you are modeling. I often times see them listed on ebay.

I am patiently waiting for someone to make PRR MP54 units. I would think they would just as, if not more popular than the subway sets that Life-Like put out (hint hint hint).
