Where to find 1:29 scale livestock?

Been looking everwhere for 1:29 scale live stock (cattle) to set up a small cattle loading platform for my stock cars. Been able to find just about every other size used with G gage but no 1:29. I have tied some of the other scales thinking that it would be OK if they were close to 1:29 but they all look wrong. Too tall or too tall or bad proportions or too something…just look wrong.
Does anyone know of a source for 1:29 scale farm stock (not zoo animals).

Hi oldokie
Might not be what your looking for but try and find LGB no 5127
they are Texas long horn cattle 4 to a box.
Capt Carrales are you paying attention you might be able to use them as well.
regards John

Preiser has several types of cattle. I found some links at this site:

Another German company, Schleich, also puts out a large catalog of animals (ranging from horses, sea creatures, wildlife, etc. etc.) They are very nice quality and can be found oftentimes in hobby shops. Michaels craft stores also sell a line of similar figures, but I can’t think of their name offhand. Both lines are usually found loose in bins or a display.

Hope this helps!

Try Dollar General. They have bags of farm livestock for $1.00. Close enough in my book.

This is the second idea ,you gave me today ???their is a dollar general 2 miles from me . maybe they have some people to.thanks T.J. BEN[:)]

I plan to have a cattle ranch and stock cars in the future. I can see it now… (ECHO)SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! (ECHO) Amazing STOCK CAR RACING!!! (sound of mooing cattle) YES!!! See the excitement this…(ECHO)SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! (ECHO)

i do believe he wanted 1/29 real looking livestock what scale is lgb 1/22 what size is preiser?

Unless you guys know something I don’t, all the suggestions offered so far are in just about every scale other than 1:29. The LGB stuff is much too large as is most of the typical toy sources. If I did not have stock next to my rail cars, I could make these options work but when you sit them in or around the 1:29 cars, they look very wrong.

Dollar Tree Corp. HQ is 3 miles from my house in Greenbriar. Next time you are in there, notice the merchandise tags from Chesapeake, VA. When you buy Chinese from Dollar Tree, you are actually supporting my home town. THANKS!!!

Don’t know if they have people that will fit the bill, I didn’t look, but I did get some cool metal dragonflies to stick in the garden.

Paul,

The closest you will get is 1:32 – unless Aristo starts making some.
Checked my Preiser catalogue - no livestock in 1:32!

When you Google use “1:32 scale figures” or “54mm scale figures”.

Paul,

Try http://www.bullyland.de/index.php?nvtop=produkte&nvsub=aworld&nvleft=aworld&in=linkenav&katbasis_id=11&katsub_bully_id=444&offset=0&land=_en That is their farmland standard set all I can find for a contact here in the states is:
BULLYLAND INC. New York:
Jane L. Klaus
65 West 55 Street
Suite 4F
New York, NY 10019-4951

Tel (212) 974 9815
Fax (212) 974 9814

they look to be close to be able to pass as 1:29

Later,
Jack

Isn’t Aristo still listing thier animals for clearance??? Last I noticed they still had some cows pigs & horses left along with all the zoo types!

Hi oldokie
But how big is a Texas long horn[:)]
The difernce is not going to be that great or very noticable.
It is my understanding they are pretty big as far as cows go.

oldokie

i believe the bully figures are 1/20 maybe not but i think they are i looked into them once too big for my 1/29. [V]

Hmmm, where did you see those listed?
I checked their website catalogue and didn’t find any!

Steve,

The Bullyland figures come in 2 sizes and the large ones look to be more like 1:20 the regular looks close for 1:29

Jack

thanks jack
i thought the smaller was 1/24 thanks for clearing us up.

try this site, www.noch.com a German company with a swine of a web site but lots of figures. Go into the site, select scale in first box, figures & mini scenes in the second and then figure sets in the next window. They have 70 different figures/sets in groups of 10, the animals are on the last page at the bottom but when you leave one of the groups you go back to page 1 and have to troll through again.
They look good though!

Kim,
Thanks. You are right…tough site to navigate. A bit pricy also.
