I picked up a couple undecorated SD75I’s that were being blown out for $50. The long hood one one of them ended up meeting its maker in an untimely manner while I was painting it. Does anyone know where I could find a new long hood section? I cannot locate them anywhere on the Internet or at my LHS. Is that something Athearn would have if I called them, or would they be too old? I’d even buy another full engine if the price was right.

Dude, Contact Athearn Parts! Yes, you can get about anything that they make. I’m gotten a bunch of stuff from them.
That might be better said by saying that you can get anything they make, just not painted or decorated. My UP SD70 had a tragic accident when I accidentally dropped the soldering iron while installing DCC. It is only a small hole though…
This is true. You can get almost anything they make in undecorated not painted.
I’ll have to give Athearn a try directly…I’ve been watching eBay and I also checked Athearn’s site. I was not able to come up with anything yet. Undecorated is actually preferred, since I was painting it anyway. Thanks!
